Baku Beach Club
Saturday night venue for locals and visitors - known to
locals as simply 'Baku' due to its location within the
Baku Beach Club. This club is one of the smartest we've
visited with a distinct air of money in the atmosphere
on many Saturday nights!
Dress smart casual to get in, although it's certainly
alot dressier than, say, Harbour Lights or the Boat Yard.
Dress to impress!!
As you enter the courtyard enjoy a drink in the open air,
with local band playing on a Saturday night (4D People
were playing - anyone care to give us an update?) Or venture
on inside to air conditioned indoor club - to the sounds
of R&B, hip-hop, garage etc The club has a Moroccan
theme, classy waiter service and silky throw cushions
- its bizarre and yet it works! We tend to get there around
11pm on a Saturday and dance until dawn!
Entry fee on the door with drinks voucher.

popular hang -out joint with both locals and tourists,
a bar type joint with pool table, air hockey, and a wacky
owner. Open in the day, and offering different nightly
themes- kareoke etc Not masses to do in this area so Crocs
is a personal favourite of ours when in the Paynes Bay

him know you saw the listing on the Shoestring Barbado site!
English pub type atmosphere with satellite tv showing
sports, pool tables and an ex-pat type feel - when we've
been there anyway!
Great place for lunches and evening meals- good food at
Gorgeous beach across the road - pop over for a few drinks
and lunch when you're ready!
The Coach House were also offering cold drinks on the
beach- let us know if they're still doing it! (great idea
by the way)
midway between Sandy Lane and Tamarind Cove Hotels on the
West Coast of Barbados is one of the most beautiful beaches
on the island, Paynes Bay - a long stretch of wide golden
sand with clear calm turquoise water perfect for swimming.
The beach is quiet and unspoiled where you can truly get away
from the crowds. There is a safe swim area with beach loungers
and sun umbrellas for rent.
at the centre of this tranquil bay is Bombas - a rustic little
Beach Bar and Restaurant with wooden decking out on to the
sand under the shade of majestic palm trees. Owner operated
by Gay, a Scottish chef from Dundee, and Wayne, a local Barbadian,
Bombas is a popular al fresco eating spot for both Bajans
Gay is normally hidden away in the kitchen creating her exciting
daily specials which include SE Asian curries (inspired by
her travels), tasty pasta sauces using fresh herbs from her
own garden, and exciting vegetarian dishes which tempt even
"carnivores"!!! Bombas' menu also includes local
chicken & fish dishes, beach style grilled snacks like
the "Bombaburger" and a special menu for children.
Bombas is the perfect place to spend the day either lazing
on the beach or taking part in a variety of available watersports.
Sunsets are spectacular and Bombas is a favourite spot to
sit and observe the perfect day slip away while sipping a
romantic cocktail. Evening relaxes into candlelit dining under
the spotlit splendour of the palm trees.
